The R & S ® EB200 is a superhet receiver with a third between frequencies of 10.7 MHz. Despite its compact size, it was possible to implement the modern receiver concept. Receiver input is equipped with upper pass/lower pass combination or tracking preset as required to reduce signal load amount. Intermodulation suppression equals many receivers used in stationary applications. The low rate of reverse radiation of the oscillator is the result of extensive filtering. The modern synthesizer concept featuring very low phase noise allows switching times of less than 3 ms. Efficient frequency and memory scanning can therefore be

The R & S ® EB200 monitoring receiver from Rohde & Schwarz is ideal for monitoring military tasks and spectrum monitoring in accordance with ITU recommendations, as well as for use in investigative services.

The range of applications includes:

Signal detection

Search for signals in frequency and memory scan mode

Occupancy of spectrum measurements

RF and IF analysis

Measurement of coverage (on request)

Field force measurements

The R& S ® EB200 is monitoring and testing for radio detection and control in accordance with the recommendations of ITU-R, and investigative services. The compact and robust design combined with low weight make the R & S ® EB200 a versatile and flexible tool for both stationary and mobile use.

Rohde & Schwarz EB200 is a monitoring and testing for radio detection and control in accordance with the recommendations of ITU-R, and investigative services. The compact and robust design combined with low weight makes the EB200 a versatile and flexible tool for both stationary and mobile use.

EB200 shall perform the following tasks:

Monitoring of given frequencies, e.g. storage from 1 to 1000 frequencies, Squelch settings, constant monitoring of one frequency or cyclic scanning of several frequencies

Search in a frequency range with freely selectable start and end frequencies and step widths of 1 kHz to 9,999 MHz

Short-range positioning to the mid-range destination with handheld directional antenna HE200

Detection of undesirable emissions, including pulsed

Detection of unlicensed transmitters communication illegally or interference with transmission licenses.

Protection against eavesdropping detection of miniature transmitters (errors)

Monitor your own radio exercises in the service of a band

Track selected traffic

Remote control using modem and computer in coverage measurement and monitoring systems

The device driver allows the Rohde & Schwarz EB200 Miniport receiver to be used with RadioControl. VFO mode (i.e. "CW/fixed" mode), up and downloading memories and devices, internal scanning and search functions (M-SCAN and F-SCAN) are supported. Furthermore, when developing device drivers, they fully support the concurrent control feature EB200, which allows simultaneous control of radio equipment, e.g. the user via radio equipment on the front panel and RadioControl, or by more than one application. To achieve this, the device driver handles events sent to EB200 and passes the state and value changes to RadioControl, which can then respond accordingly. For example, when a user enters a new frequency or starts the scanner directly on a radio device, RadioControl immediately responds by displaying the newly specified frequency or switching to shooting mode. So this feature not only allows simultaneous control of the same EB200 using RadioControl and the radio device on the front panel, but also the use of more than one application. For example, radiocontrol should be used for example to control and supervise tasks and special (perhaps developed custom), software can be used for special monitoring or measurement tasks and both are connected and managed by the same EB200 device. Device drivers representing the most important features device drivers will be listed in the following:

Support for RS232 EB200 control interface in standard mode and PPP) and LAN for interface control.

The keyboard and/or EB200 display can be optionally locked/turned off if the radio device is controlled by RadioControl. Note Locking the keyboard and turning off the display will speed up scanning and search actions.

Full support for the current EB200 control. As mentioned above, the device driver supports scenarios under which the EB200 is not only controlled by RadioControl itself, but also by the user and/or other applications at the same time, which opens up a variety of application scenarios.
