FLEX-6000 ™ Signature Series transmitter is based on new hardware architectures and SmartSDR ™ software platforms. This new ultra-high performance defined radio software uses Digital Down Conversion (DDC) to convert from RF directly to digital broadcast and digital up conversion (DUC) to convert from digital to RF. Flex-6000 utilizes spectral Capture ™ units (SCU) for RF digital conversion and ultra high performance onboard signal processing and control system, to perform demodulation and modulation, filtering and audio stream management. The result is incredible dynamic receiver range, ultra-low phase noise and phenomenal received signal clarity.

Flex-6700 model, transmitter uses two scusi to receive 0.033 - 77 MHz in addition to 135 to 165 MHz and the ability to create up to 8 full-fledged independent slice receivers. Since flex-6700 has two independent scusi it is capable of diversity intake. The FLEX-6500 model uses one SCU to receive 0.033 to 77 MHz and the ability to create up to four full-fledged slice receivers. Optimized preselektor filters can be selected on amateur bands for larger of the band rejections.

SmartSDR is a software "ecosystem" of the radio platform. Organizes all signal processing power on the radios on advanced radio fabrics. SmartSDR understands the capabilities of each SCU and how to harness its power. It also consists of a section of the "presentation layer" or lightweight GUI client that the user works with as flex-6700 and flex-6500 uses an Ethernet connection for high speed "driverless" access to the graphical user interface (GUI).

Flex 6700 and FLEX-6500 provide continuous operation of 100W of power throughout the 160-6m band together with an automatic antenna tuner (ATU) with the possibility of tuning antennas before 10:01 (03:01 with a range of 160 m and 6 meters). Both radios are capable of very low power (~1-50 mW) transmitte wherever they receive capabilities.
